Project Overview
Basics
Dry Grazing Alternative Water Source (Valley CD)
Deferred
This projects addresses toxic algae blooms in Lake Cascade. It supports the IDEQ lake buffer zone BMP (Ref: 2000 IDEQ Implementation Plan) to keep cattle from drinking lake water and defecating in or near the lakeshore by providing fresh drinking water source(s) at locations higher in pasture areas.
The project is to design and deliver fresh water to water troughs or cattle head pumps.
Actual costs will vary depending on the volunteer rancher for the program, herd size, and terrain constraints.
