Agricultural Projects & Practices
Cropland Erosion Control
This project provides water savings and decreases soil erosion through the conversion of a gravity irrigation system to sprinkler pivots, buried main line and addition of cover crops. The project decreases deep soil percolation of total suspended solids (a measure of turbidity), pathogens, and phosphorous and will also provide pollinator planting. Fencing will be added for grazing management.
The Resource Conservation and Rangeland Development Program provides low interest loans to landowners for projects and practices that provide conservation benefits. All loans made to borrowers are repaid to the state with interest.
